Tara is a senior biologist who brings 10 years of field and project management experience to Artemis. As Artemis grew and Julie’s needs for full-time staff did too, it made for an easy decision and an exciting opportunity for Tara to officially join Artemis in 2019 and help grow a small, woman-owned business. A joy to work with, Julie quickly grew to become one of Tara’s favorite clients. Natasha has assisted with monitoring of seasonal breeding colonies of endangered California least tern, surveyed for presence-absence of threatened California gnatcatcher, assisted with census surveys of threatened Western snowy plover, helped conduct bat surveys via full-spectrum recordings and mist-netting, and assisted with surveys of small mammals, herps, fish, native and non-native vegetation. Natasha Rodriguez is an Environmental Scientist by education, with more than five years of field experience in a variety of disciplines, from water quality monitoring, hydric soil assessment, and wetland delineation, to stream and habitat assessments, and biological surveys. Ultimately, Natasha hopes to inspire and grow a passion for the wilds within our youth that will translate into action.

During her free time, Natasha volunteers with cubscouts, encouraging and teaching youth to explore the outdoors safely and with a conservation mindset. One of her favorite quotes, “We do not inherit the earth from our ancestors we borrow it from our children”, sums up her views of conservation and sustainability and her desire to preserve Earth’s natural wonders for future generations. She is passionate about the environment, conservation, and community service. She regularly attends various environmental conferences, staying current on evolving regulations and best management practices. Monica has experience monitoring and mapping seasonal breeding colonies of endangered California least tern, rare and endemic plants of Catalina and San Diego, utility gas lines, and stormwater outflow. She is a GIS specialist with more than 10 years of experience working in a variety of environmental conservation disciplines. Monica even lived for several years on the Santa Catalina Island, managing plant conservation and restoration projects for the Santa Catalina Island Conservancy.įinding her way back to San Diego, Monica has turned her focus to GIS.
